An unusual crowd gathered on Saturday at Eagles Square Abuja for the declaration of Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, to run in the 2023 presidential election, making history once again in Nigeria’s political process.

The number of heads was clearly uncountable and could be compared to sea sands at Eagles Square. It was an unusual sight and occurrence for Nigerians, as residents from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory flocked to the event center to witness Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, declare his intention to run for president in 2023.

Observers and political analysts confirmed, boldly, that Yahaya Bello’s declaration tagged “HOPE 2023 AND THE QUEST TO BRIDGE EXISTENTIAL GAPS IN NIGERIA’S BODY POLITICS” has become the largest gathering for any presidential declaration ceremony in the country’s political history.

Nigerians turned out in record numbers to witness the ceremony and express their support for the country’s youngest governor to become the country’s next president in 2023.

Hon Anthony Edogbo, National Coordinator of BAN, told reporters at the event that the large crowd at the event center was a clear indication that Nigerians desperately needed Yahaya Bello. He praised the governor for responding to their calls to become the next president in order to replicate the governor’s efficient government in Kogi.

In his declaration speech, Bello noted that he is not “running for president apologetically but on the verified achievements in my assignment as the governor of Kogi State.”

He emphasized his accomplishments in Kogi state as well as the qualities that distinguish him as a presidential aspirant, such as truthfulness, security, tribe and religion unification, and infrastructure development, among many others. He also alluded to a modern economic and financial system that he planned to implement in order to boost the country’s economy and reduce unemployment.

Bello also spoke about his plans for blockchain, metaverse, and cryptocurrency, all of which appear to be the way of the future for financial transactions.

The governor also stated that he would implement the Igbo apprenticeship system of empowerment in order to create long-term jobs for the people.

The event has set tongues wagging both online and offline, as few Nigerians who previously doubted the governor’s capacity have been proven wrong by the love he receives from the majority of Nigerians. Many people are now questioning whether Bello is truly the man destined to succeed President Muhammedu Buhari as the country’s leader.
