We got security right in Kogi because the governor involved the youth – Hon Ahmed
The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has given young African leaders a clue to the security structure in Kogi state and how the confluence state has been able to achieve its status as the most peaceful state in the north-central of Nigeria.
Speaking at the discussion session at the Young African Conference held at NAF Conference Center, as a panelist on the discourse titled “Security and the role of the Youth,” Hon. Ahmed disclosed that the issue of security starts from the leadership.
He explained that the security of Kogi was handled by the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello through the involvement of the youth. He said youth leaders are made the security chieftains in the local councils and they are fully committed.
The House Member urged that if the same can be replicated at the national level, Nigeria will get it right.
He hammered on the pivotal role of the youth in security and summed that young people are key factors to achieving security in Africa.
The member of the panelist further praised the leadership of the Kogi state and called for the replication of the same at all states.
