The Former Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo has lost the bid to represent Yagba West at the House of Representatives, as he was defeated in the Friday primary election of the All Progressives Congress.

Fanwo, pitched as the anointed candidate of the State Governor, Yahaya Bello, lost the election to Engr. Folorunsho Olafemi with a slim margin.

Olafemi polled 76 delegate votes, while the erstwhile Commissioner polled 72 votes.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Kolawole Matthew emerged as the Reps candidate of the party for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.

Matthew defeated the State Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara, David Aiyedogbon, and Segun Olobatoke to pick the ticket.

It was gathered that even though Fanwo was believed to be government’s “anointed” candidate, he failed in his “homework.”
