The former governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia-North Senatorial District, Orji Uzo Kalu has commended the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello on his performance on security, youth and women inclusiveness in governance.
The senator who arrived the Lugard House, Lokoja on Wednesday evening, said his visit to Bello was based on the existing relationship between him and the governor.
According to a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed, Orji urged the governor to strengthen the state’s bond with the federal government in order to attract more development into the state.
The statement reads, ”Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello receives in audience , the former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu at Lugard House, Lokoja on Wednesday.
”Senator Orji who arrived Government House, Lokoja this evening stated that he decided to visit Kogi Governor once again based on the existing relationship between him, Governor Bello and the people of Kogi State.
”He commended Governor Bello for his effort in stamping out criminal elements in the state noting that the state has become more peaceful unlike what it used to be before the administration of Yahaya Bello. He urged Kogi Governor to continue to strengthen the bund between Kogi and the Federal Government in other to attract more infrastructure to the state.
”Orji lauded Bello for youths and women inclusions in his administration stating that such approach should be emulated by other leaders across the nation.”
