Police Rescue Catholic Nun From Kidnappers In Benue

The Police in Benue State have rescued a Catholic Nun from fleeing abductors in Ichama forest in Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, stated on Saturday that the incident happened on Friday night at about 11 pm.

Anene explained that at about 11: 00 pm on Friday, a piece of information was received that armed men overpowered the civilian security man at the gate of the convent in Ichama village and adopted a Reverend Sister.

“The police on routine patrol in the area responded quickly and chased the hoodlums into a nearby forest where they abandoned the victim and took to their heels.

“The victim, who was tensed by the incident, is currently responding to treatment at Okpoga.

“Detectives are on the trail of the suspects,” the PPRO added.
