PDP National Youth Movement to embark on a 1million match in solidarity for Anambra guber
The recently inaugurated youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP National Youth Movement, South East zone has resolved to embark on a massive street stroll to show support for the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.
The body made this known in a communique it made available to the press at the end of its South-East Caucus Meeting held on Saturday, 18th September 2021 in Enugu State.
The body in its seven (7) points resolution noted that the PDP remains the only credible alternative to “take out of bad governance” in Nigeria as it enjoined the young people to massively get involved in the process.
In the meeting which was said to be well attended by the leadership of the movement across the states in the zone as well as national representatives, the body also said it’s worried over prevalent hostilities across the country and called on the federal government for intervention for the returning of normalcy to enable the youth have access to education and meaningful engagement upon graduation.
On its stance on the ongoing VAT saga as well as open grazing and party zoning, the group said, “the Caucus supports the outcome of the recent meeting of the southern Governors viz a viz collection of VAT, open grazing and agreed to abide by the zoning formula of the party as regards which zone of the country should produce the president when finally released.”
It further encouraged the political participation of young people while calling on the party to give considerations to youth showing interest in political offices in terms of form acquisition and other areas serving as a hindrance to the youth.
The body finally registered its appreciation to the governor of Enugu state and the leadership of the movement who made the meeting possible.
“The caucus Specially appreciates the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his People’s oriented governance which warranted the peaceful outcome of our meeting. We thank leaders and stakeholders that supported the hosting of the caucus meeting especially, the BOT Chairman, Comrade Jude Imagwe, BOT Vice Chairman, Hon. Chima Obieze, National Patron, Chief Dr. Collins Osuagwu, Comrade Chidi Iliogbe and, National President, Engr. S A Lukman for leading members of his National Excos to Southeast,” it said.
