Testimony of God’s Given Grace And Divine Mercy.
Dear compatriots, mentors, friends and distinguished colleagues. name is Comr. John Tsaku Jr.
Sometimes about 5 years ago, after my NCE in Physics/Computer Education, I desired to study in Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi now known as JS Tarka University, Makurdi.
I had no one to help me secure admission so I lay the cry to my uncle and he linked me to one Prof. Ayuba of blessed memory, the Prof. Tried his effort but it yielded no result and he gave up to try further. On a faithful day, I was interacting with Mr. Ekiemieze, Lecturer in COE Akwanga regarding the admission process and he linked me to Engr. Aju Abari, a Lab Technician in EEE department, FUAM.
Haven interacted with him for a while, he invited me to meet him in UAM with my credentials, Lo and behold I met Engr. Abari for the first time in life. He welcomed me and took me to the then HOD of EEE pleading for admission on my behalf, the HOD welcomed us, access my credentials and declined the offer of admission as he tagged “Education qualification and Engineering are far apart, not appropriate for admission.”
In kindness and concern, Engr. Abari pleaded again with the HOD to consider me for admission in 100Level instead of 200L but for the second time, the HOD declined and recommended me to rewrite Jamb and apply for engineering through UTME as the only option for admission.
When all efforts with the HOD failed, Engr. Abari took me to one Mummy Susan whom I have also met for the first time in life at the academic office and pleaded for admission but this time with alternate course option (Computer Science) and Mummy Susan decided to assist in the process, haven collected all my credentials, she misplaced it. After 1st, 2nd, and 3rd batch of admission I couldn’t find my name in the admission list, therefore placed a call on Mummy Susan, she responded and asked for my credentials again. I called Engr. Abari whether the spare copy I gave him was still with him but unfortunately, he too misplaced the copy. I was left with no option than to resend another copy of my credentials to Mummy Susan through Engr. Abari for the second time.
Haven received my credentials, something mysteriously occurred. Mummy Susan forgot the alternative course option I suggested to her since it was not written in my DE form and proceeded to offer me a direct 200L Admission in the last batch of admission to read EEE as against the 100L we pleaded for, with the HOD.
Haven processed the acceptance of admission, Mummy Susan assisted me in the screening exercise and made it whole lot easy.
Two (2) days to the date for departmental screening, the HOD of EEE department who refused to recommend me for admission in EEE was changed.
On the date of the departmental screening, I was successfully screened and matriculated into EEE department, FUAM.
Mummy Susan further assisted me to secured hostel accommodation in my first year which made my stay in UAM much easier.
While facing the academy stress and challenges, I made I vowed not to cheat or get involved in any form of malpractice both during tests and exams which by God’s given grace, I kept to the vow.
While maintaining my stands on the vow, I faced the most challenging course (EME207)Engineering Drawing 1, I wrote the exams the best way I can but unfortunately my best was too poor to get a pass mark but I submitted the script anyways. Again God proofed his miracle in the exams, the course lecturer misplaced my script, checked attendance and saw my name, he asked if I had sat for the exams, I told him yes I did… He was left with no option than to pass me on that course.
The same kind of miracles happen in many other cases that time may not permit me to mention but in all these God is worthy of praise!
Today, With all the ups and downs I have no regret for keeping to my vows in God, I have not regret for following God, I have no regret for pursuing my passion in unionism, the motivation I got to contest the National Secretary of Nasarawa State Students was derived from your unalloyed supports and encouragement, I have no regret for the course I studied, I have no regret for the people I met, I have no regret for the delay caused by different factors that interrupted our studies until this day and I have no regret to be a product of Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi.
Thank you all!
Long Live Great Electron
Long Live UAM
Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
