Kaduna, Oyo To Hold LG Polls May 15

Oyo and Kaduna State Local Government Elections have been scheduled to hold on Saturday the 15th day of May 2021.

While that of Kaduna was disclosed by Ibrahim Sambo, the leader of the State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) when unveiling the time table to the political party officials, Abiola Olagunju (SAN), revealed that of Oyo state, stating that the local government elections in the state will be conducted on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Sambo said, “Section 25 (1) of Kaduna State Independent Electoral Law as amended in 2018, we said the local government elections will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.”

By the disclosure from the both states on Monday, political parties are expected to conduct primary elections between February 26 and March 28 to elect candidates for the elections.

It was also disclosed that caretaker council chairmen who wish to contest should resign before the election date.
