How Gov Bello is conquering opposition in Kogi through his CPS

Spread the love

The voice of opposition in Kogi State is at its lowest ebb. If anyone had said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is dead here, nothing is truer than that. Very many persons who had seen no good in the governance of Governor Yahaya Bello no longer have any tangible thing to criticise the government over because a bridge builder surfaced at the state political central stage in form of a Chief Press Secretary to the governor and have changed the narrative of how the governor and the government are viewed.

Beyond the job of tailoring words to pass the message of his master, the CPS to the governor of Kogi State, Onogwu Muhammed has been able to penetrate many hearts and make them see reasons they should believe in the government and take part to ease the delivery of good governance. A man careful with words and wonderful in attitude.

I was a fierce critic of Yahaya Bello and the government until my encounter with Onogwu at the wee days of this year. He gave me a paradigm shift and until this very moment, many pause to ponder over my sudden change and shifting of ground.

Opposition in Kogi State is garnished with tribal and religious sentiments decorated with personal hatred for certain personalities in the government. Having been a staunch critic and an ally to the major voices in the opposition, I could tell the intent of most things dished out against the government. And the truth is, there is no true activism in Kogi.

When the government is not in the favour of a people. It becomes a bad government and that is natural. Not just that, bitterness of ‘why is it not me,’ ‘why is it not my person,’ blind people from seeing the beautiful works of the government. And people who hide under these dubious intents and pose as activists are the most dangerous political players. They don’t see any good in the government, it spreads negetivity and natures social voices among the people.

Having been on the other side for years, speaking through the tongue of tribal sentiment and ignorantly spreading lies and propaganda cooked by allies, one would wonder how I suddenly found love in a governor I once throw stones at. But except you encounter Onogwu, you wouldn’t be able to decipher.

The truth is, government is never a bad one, and the bitter sweet truth is, we were only seeing it with bad minds.

Some of the staunch personalities in the oppositions today are longing to meet with the CPS and this spells interesting days ahead in the Kogi political circle because you can’t meet a mind reformer like Onogwu and remain the same. He opens your mind to think straight and to see the best way to impact the society with positivity.

Today, Onogwu is the most visible bridge that links the East to the government. The only voice that is respected and trusted among the people. A man the people can count on and relate without brutal rebuttal borne out of arrogance.

The government has got an icon in Onogwu. The man who understand the power of peace and the non violence approach to winning wars.

The opposition is confessing and the people in government are attesting. Everybody wants to be with Onogwu and sooner than later, the dimming voices still breathing in the opposition would succumb. The signs are here pending the manifestation.

Its time for every wise individual to key into the move of the government and the aspiration of gov Bello. Its a new era in Kogi political atmosphere. And you can only make a better impact if you are in the system. The worst that could happen is to be left alone at the other side.

GYB has won the war against insecurity and silenced the opposition through his works and a workaholic CPS because when an image maker wears a fine image, the job of image making becomes a bread through butter. Onogwu is an image maker with a fine image.
