It was a market of joy in Benue state’s Ogbadibo local government area today as Honourable David Abah Umoru officially took over as executive chairman of the local government.
Ogbadibo, which borders Enugu and Kogi State, is one of Benue State’s largest and most reputable LGAs.
Hon. David was elected by his people to lead the council’s operations on April 30th under the People’s Democratic Party platform in an election conducted by the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission.
According to reports, his election victory was due to his people’s overwhelming support and his leadership abilities.
The former banker was sworn in earlier today, to the delight of his supporters, who took to social media and other platforms to congratulate him and pledge their support.
David, who is from Adupi Orokam, was a PDP chiftain before becoming the LGA CHAIRMAN. He was the PDP’s consensus candidate and eventual election winner.
Addressing the press after the inauguration, the chairman thanked his people, pledging that his administration will give the people of Ogbadibo a facelift. He added that he has a development plan for the council and would ensure that everyone is carried along to facilitate development into the area.
