As Kogi online users continue to call out the senate member representing the Kogi East senatorial district, Sen. Isah Jibrin popularly known as Echocho in connection with a project reportedly proposed to be situated in Imane district of Olamaboro local government, the media aide to the senator, Prosper Elijah Salifu, has cleared the air on the situation of the said project.
Prosper while responding to one of the call-outs on Facebook, disclosed that “Echocho did not promise 40-beds hospital anywhere” but had only lobbied for the project – which is anchored by the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) – to be situated in Imane in honor of Abdullahi Haruna fondly called Haruspice.
The Senator’s media aide noted that Imane was factored into the project through Haruspice because of his good relationship with the senator and that neither Haruspice nor the senator is to execute the project but to facilitate via lobbying as a lawmaker.
He added that the hospital project was not to be personally funded by the senator and that the reason for the delay could be attributed to the approval and mobilization of the government through the SDG scheme.
It is said to be almost a year that the news of the project broke out and it was widely shared by social media users with much applause already accord Haruspice. Yet, the people wonder why it’s yet to see the light of the day.
Concerns have been raised on and offline including Whatsapp groups over the status of the project and it has drawn the attention of more people, especially critics, in recent days.
