Dr. Ibrahim Liman vows to fish out aggressors of Fire Fighters in Lokoja
The Controller-General (CG) of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Dr. Ibrahim Liman, has pledged that the association would not rest until those that assaulted its staff in Kogi State, are fished out and dealt with.
Liman said this as aftermath of the assault on officials of the FFS and their fire engines in Kogi State by some gangsters, last Wednesday, along the Felele street in the Lokoja.
Portraying the assault as ridiculous and inadmissible, he said the firemen were reacting to a fire call about a vehicle that burst into flames at a fuel station inverse Kogi State Polytechnic. In any case, on moving toward the scene, a horde outfitted with perilous weapons started to assault the fire engine, which was passing on the firemen.
In a report, the CG said the crowd prevailed with regards to obliterating portions of the truck and harming firemen, who are right now in medical clinic getting therapy.
“The assault on firemen and fire engines by punks is unsatisfactory and those mindful will not go unpunished, on the grounds that this is the second time Kogi State firemen will be assaulted,” he said.
The FF chief, Liman hence, demanded that the culprits should be brought to book since it is a criminal offense for anybody to assault firemen or fire engine for at all reasons.
He clarified his mandate of “boycotting any local area, who ceaselessly assaults firemen actually stands, and that hence, any state government that can’t guarantee the security of Federal Fire Service firemen and gear in their states will leave the Service with no other alternative except for to pull out its essence from the state, as I won’t crease my hands and watch my men harmed and killed, just as fire engines worth great many naira obliterated.”
