According to the Daily Trust, Damaturu, the state capital where Buni was received, was at a standstill with thousands of people from the state’s 17 local government areas and neighboring states of Borno, Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, and Bauchi.

Buni, who later spoke at a reception in his honor, thanked the people of the state, the North East, and the rest of the country for their support as chairman of the party’s caretaker committee.

He concluded by urging APC members to back the new National Working Committee led by Adanu in order to deliver the party in the 2023 elections.

In his remarks, Senate President Ahmad Lawan praised Governor Buni for reviving the party.
