
In anticipation of the November 11, 2023 Governorship election in Kogi State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Idah Local Government Area has dissolved its structure and pledged its support for Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During an event in Lokoja, Kogi State, Adejoh Haruna, the Chairperson of the Idah Local Government Chapter of ADC, announced the decision to back Senator Melaye.
To demonstrate their commitment, they handed over ADC’s membership registers for all ten wards within the local government, along with both issued and non-issued membership cards, to Senator Melaye, symbolizing their unwavering endorsement.
Adejoh Haruna explained the rationale behind their choice, highlighting Senator Melaye’s readiness, experience, exposure, and capability to deliver effective governance. “Senator Dino Melaye is most prepared when it comes to readiness, experience, exposure, and the capacity to deliver good governance. We’ve united our structure (ADC) in Idah local government to support Senator Dino without delay,” the Chairperson stated.

Senator Melaye expressed appreciation to the ADC members and executives for their endorsement, assuring them of his commitment to an inclusive government in Kogi State if elected governor. He pledged to involve a significant number of ADC members in his campaign to ensure a seamless integration into his administration.
Regarding his governance vision, Senator Melaye emphasized his dedication to ensuring prompt salaries and efficient management of the local government administration. “Salaries will no longer suffer from past mismanagement, and our local government operations will be efficiently managed to guarantee timely payment to staff, teachers, traditional rulers, and pensioners,” he affirmed.
Furthermore, Senator Melaye emphasized his determination to serve as a Governor for all of Kogi State’s people, transcending tribal affiliations. “I am committed to being a leader for all the people of Kogi State, irrespective of whether they are Igala, Ebira, or Okun,” he concluded.
