Kogi women throw weight behind Ododo/Joel, promise not to let APC down

The ruling All Progressive Congress in Kogi state launched its campaign efforts by inaugurating the State Campaign Council for Women and Youth Mobilization. The women expressed their commitment to securing a resounding victory for the party’s candidate.

During the inauguration, Mrs. Rasheedat Bello, the First Lady of Kogi state and Chairperson of the steering committee for women and youth mobilization, highlighted the importance of the event and the opportunity for women to meet Hajiya Sefiya Ododo, the wife of the gubernatorial candidate.

Mrs. Bello emphasized that establishing the campaign council aimed to energize party women to build upon the achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello’s leadership over the past 7 years. She urged the women to support and rally behind Alhaji Usman Ododo, ensuring the continuation of a comprehensive women and youth agenda.

She encouraged the women to work tirelessly alongside her and the wife of the gubernatorial candidate, spreading the campaign message across all local government areas and polling units to educate more women about the APC candidate’s merits in the upcoming election.

Hajiya Sufiya Ododo, wife of the gubernatorial candidate, assured the women that her husband would remain dedicated to supporting women and youth, following the current administration’s footsteps.

The wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Ejura Mercy, stressed the vital role that women and youth play in elections and the need for a committee to manage campaign affairs to ensure their active participation.

Various groups, including FOMWAN, CAN, NCWS, and the Association of Market Women, endorsed Alhaji Usman Ododo as the APC candidate and pledged to use their networks to secure his victory, highlighting the significant influence of women in determining election outcomes.
