
The Kogi state government has officially handed over the newly built Reference Hospital in Okene to Prof. Solomon Avidime, the newly appointed Chief Medical Director.
The state’s Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Zakari Usman, toured the advanced medical facility and urged Prof. Avidime to leverage his experience in managing this state-of-the-art health center.
Equipped with cutting-edge medical tools like Mammographic, CT Scan, MRI machines, and a Hyperbaric chamber, this hospital is the sole provider of hyperbaric oxygen treatment in Nigeria.

Prof. Avidime, a renowned Obstetrics and Gynecology expert, has over 25 years of experience and was applauded by the Ebira Doctors Forum for his integrity and dedication to healthcare.
The Chairman of Okene LGA pledged support for the facility’s security and functionality, while Prof. Avidime expressed gratitude to Gov. Yahaya Bello for entrusting him with the pioneer CMD role.
He committed to making a positive impact on the healthcare of Kogi residents and all Nigerians, emphasizing that the hospital is ready to address both local and international medical needs and reduce medical tourism in Nigeria.
