Ahaji Yahaya Bello, the Governor of Kogi State, warmly received members of the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on Tertiary Education Tax Fund at the Government House in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Led by Hon. Udem Unyime, the committee was conducting an oversight function at the Federal University, Lokoja, and took the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the governor.

During the meeting, Hon. Unyime conveyed the committee’s purpose and expressed their desire to ensure effective oversight in the education sector. In response, Governor Bello reassured the committee members of a secure and peaceful stay in Kogi State and extended his well wishes for a fruitful oversight engagement.

The Adhoc Committee on Tertiary Education Tax Fund consists of distinguished members, including Hon. Shehu Saleh Rijau, Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya, Hon. Idris Salman, Hon. Lalu Ishaya, Hon. Jeremiah Umaru, Hon. Ajiya Abdulrahaman, Hon. Ozigi Mohammed Tijani, Hon. Ague Suleiman Danladi, Hon. Musa Agah Avia, Hon. Philip Agbese, Hon. Gana Joshua, and Hon. Princess Onuoha. This diverse group brings a wealth of experience and perspectives to their oversight duties.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, ONOGWU Muhammed, shared that the visit marks a significant step towards enhancing education in Kogi State.
